Cerrion banks $18M Series A funding to fuel international growth

Factory downtime costs the global manufacturing industry $1.4tn each year, and with rising energy prices and supply chains growing more complex, industry downtime costs have increased 319% since 2019. Cerrion addresses this challenge with a video AI technology for industrial automation with the mission of enabling agentic AI to work side by side with production teams, helping them do their jobs more safely, efficiently, and with less stress. Today, this vision is a reality. The company has built AI Agents that plug into standard cameras and monitor critical production areas 24/7. They instantly detect process deviations, quality issues, and potential safety risks, and intervene in real time — for example, by shutting down machines, slowing conveyors, or triggering alarms.

This combination of autonomous intervention and human partnership is already helping manufacturers in glass, wood, beverage, CPG, food, and more across 15 countries and 3 continents resolve issues up to 50% faster, cutting downtime and scrap in half while significantly improving safety. Founded in 2021 by Karim Saleh and Nikolay Kobyshev, Cerrion, is today supporting some of the world’s leading manufacturers, including Unilever, Riedel, Schott Zwiesel, Stölzle Lausitz, Sisecam, and Verallia – who supply products to major global brands like Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Pfizer, and Novartis. The company’s revenue has grown tenfold since 2024, driven by strong demand from US manufacturers, coupled with consistent demand and adoption across Europe and Latin America.

The company has completed a funding round led by Creandum, with participation from existing investors, including Y Combinator, Robin Chan and Justin Kan, 10x Founders, and Session.vc as well as new business angels, including Harry Stebbings (20VC), Garrett Langley (Founder of Flock Safety), Filip Kaliszan (Founder of Verkada), Oskar Hjertonsson, Thomas Wolf (Founder of Hugging Face), Marc Maurer (ex-CEO of On Running), Johannes Schildt, Carl Rivera (Chief Design Officer of Shopify), Christian Floerkemeier, Roman Hölzl among others.

Hanel Baveja, Partner at Creandum said:“Manufacturing is one of the few major industries where we haven’t yet seen AI deliver transformational value until now. Cerrion has built a product that works immediately within existing production environments – giving operators real-time intelligence and insights they’ve never had before. This is the kind of real-world AI application that has the potential to transform a $20tn industry.”

“We have grown more than 10x since 2024, and we’re only getting started”, said Karim Saleh, Founder and CEO of Cerrion.  With this funding, Carrion is now well positioned to further scale this impact to more factories and production teams, expand the capabilities of our agents, and continue growing our team.
