GetYourGuide becomes profitable with almost a €1 billion in revenues

GetYourGuide, the German and Swiss-based online travel experiences platform dedicated to transforming how people travel and book experiences, has become profitable for the first time, achieving positive adjusted EBITDA over the last 12 months while nearing €1 billion in net revenue in 2025.

GetYourGuide has become a go-to platform for travelers seeking unique experiences and to connect with new cultures worldwide. The discovery- and booking-platform enables tourists to book travel experiences such as tours, activities, and tickets to attractions. Getyourguide receives a commission as an intermediary for each booking concluded on its platform.

Since its inception sixteen years ago, the company has expanded its offers to more than 110,000 activities from over 35,000 experience creators in more than 12’000 cities, and more than 200 million tickets have been sold ever since. Following a pandemic-induced slump that severely impacted the travel sector, GetYourGuide has now fully recovered, with more than 10 million experiences booked alone in the summer of 2025 – representing 30% growth compared to the previous year.

In line with this remarkable performance, Johannes Rech, CEO and co-founder of GetYourGuide announced during the Bloomberg’s London Tech Summit that the company it is now profitable on an adjusted EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) over the past year. The company’s revenue is approaching the €1 billion mark for the last 12 full months, reaffirming the company’s position as a dominant player in the experiential travel economy.

“When we started GetYourGuide, experiences were completely overlooked. I’d spend 10 minutes just explaining what we do, only to receive puzzled looks: “You’re selling tours? Tickets? Sounds hard. Sounds small”, says Johannes Rech, CEO and co-founder of GetYourGuide in his LinkedIn post. “It took us 16 years, but we’ve flipped the script. Experiences are no longer an afterthought. They’re the first thing people research when planning trips, whether they’re scrolling TikTok, chatting with ChatGPT, or reading their favorite travel Substack (or all of the above)”, he adds.

In the video, Reck also emphasized that GetYourGuide has taken an aggressive approach during the downturn, focusing on technology development and market expansion even as competitors retrenched. They have doubled down on innovation with AI-powered tools for partners, expanded inventory in popular categories like shows and events, and introduced exclusives called “GYG Originals,” solidifying leadership particularly in Europe and gaining traction in the US market.
